Salia Sanou
De fugues… en Suites…

De fugues… en Suites…

Durée : 1h

Salia Sanou weaves together the musical language of Johann Sebastian Bach with childhood memories resonating with the sounds of the kora and the balafon. A piece for six dancers with unique backgrounds (ranging from contemporary to African dance, from jazz to hip-hop, and even ballet) *De Fugues… en Suites…* draws on the structure of the fugue, with its mirroring and inversion effects, to trace lines that are both rigorous and richly varied. In this journey through the intimate, the piece explores our ability to find harmony: “to speak to one another, but to understand one another”. And, perhaps, to rediscover “a little of oneself”, away from the clamour and rustling of the world.
