Limbo exists in a liminal space. On the border between action and inaction, existence and non-existence. Inspired by ‘whacking’ – a dance form that originated in the queer clubs of Los Angeles – this solo piece by Suzanne Degennaro draws on her own intersex experience. Moving between celebration, melancholy and resistance, the piece navigates fissures, blurred realities and a sense of being adrift. Inspired by limbo and liminal spaces – those familiar yet unsettling realms drawn from the post-internet imagination – Suzanne Degennaro crafts a landscape of waiting and strangeness, where everything seems at once close at hand and out of reach.
